Stainless Steel
Small Floor Space Footprint
Suitable for Offshore & Shipping
Enhanced EN16500 Safety Features
Bale and Compact Cardboard & Plastic
Fast Pressing Cycle & Bale-out Indicator
The Mil-tek 2205S is a stainless steel baler suitable for compacting cardboard, plastic and other waste materials. As is it stainless steel, it is ideal for tough, onerous conditions such as on board shipping vessels or on offshore platforms.
The 2205S covers a floor space area of just 42cm2, making it one of the smallest footprint vertical balers on the market. Despite this, it can create a bale upwards of 120kg. This makes the 2205S perfect for compact, cramped locations where space is limited and waste must be carefully managed.
Being fully compliant with EN16500 safety standards makes the 2205S an extremely safe machine for users. On top of Mil-tek's 24 years (and counting) of zero incidents, zero claims, we've further improved our range in line with new European safety standards. This improves cover all aspects of the machine use, and extend to improving the pressing cycle, which lasts as little as just 7 seconds.
A cycle counter allows users to track the number of pressing cycles the 2205S makes, and a bale-out indicator shows when the machine is full. These features contribute to the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the machine.
Like all Mil-tek Offshore waste management solutions, the 2205S baler is powered exclusively by compressed air. This means that the 2205S vertical baler is free from hydraulic oil, making it cleaner, safer and more efficient.
Agro Korn produce animal feed. This is the type of industry a 2205S is ideally suited for, as it is a food producing environment where hygiene is key, and particles in the air can cause corrosion.
Mitre 10 are a hardware supplies chain based in New Zealand. A combination of Mil-tek machines allows Mitre 10 to compact large volumes in small vertical balers.
Puratos supply ingredients for the catering industry. They use a Mil-tek 205 allowing them to hygienically compact paper bags in the working area as they are used, saving them time and money and improving efficiency.
The 2205S requires nothing more than a compressed air supply to operate. For uneven or moving surfaces, it an be securely bolted to floors or walls.
Fill the chamber with cardboard or plastic waste and close the door. The door handle acts as a safety, only activating once it is fully depressed. Keep an eye on the bale-out indicator, which will tell you when the baler is full.
A stainless steel baler is extremely durable, regardless the conditions. It significantly susceptible to rust as most machines. It allows for baling of non-recyclable such as fishing nets or tainted packaging.

Ships and offshore vessels are banned from illegally dumping waste at sea. As such, it is imperative that all waste produced on board is compact and minimized to facilitate easy disposal at a later point.

Yes it is. Over the last number of years Mil-tek have been a part of a Health and Safety Executive committee that has been committed to creating new improved standards for the safe use of vertical balers. As a result we have made a significant number of improvements to the model 2205S in order to comply with EN16500 standards and to ensure safe use for the end-user.
EN16500 only covers Europe, but Mil-tek will no longer be producing balers that do not comply with this new safety standard.
The 2205S requires a compressed air supply to operate, which is normally readily available on board ships and offshore platforms. The machine is free of hydraulic oil, making it safer, cleaner and quieter than a hydraulic compactor.
While operating with small crews, commercial shipping vessels handle and process large amounts of packaging waste. In order to comply with strict legislation, this waste must be carefully handled and appropriately disposed of onshore, where it can be recycled.
With its small size and stainless steel frame, the 2205 facilitates waste recycling on board commercial ships.
Between the hundreds - sometimes thousands - of guests and crew aboard a large cruise ship, a huge volume of waste is generated. A 2205S stainless steel baler simplifies the waste management and recycling process offshore, by creating a simple, low power and easy to use solution.
Mil-tek balers are safe and simple to operate, meaning that they can be used by all staff, without specialist training.
