The Model 205-O is an offshore baler suitable for cardboard and plastic that makes offshore waste management a simple and effective process.
The Mil-tek 205-O Offshore has been customised to operate in tough, offshore environments such as platforms and rigs. A range of precise changes help to minimize corrosion that platform based machinery are suceptible to, and the unit itself is available in both powder-enamel or stainless steel finishes. This ensures the baler will endure in tough working environments.
With a floorspace footprint of just 52cm2, the 205-O is ideal for compact locations such as offshore platforms where space is limited. The elongated vertical chamber can create a cardboard bale of up to 50kg, and a plastic bale of up to 100kg. The effect of waste minimization offshore improves the workflow and simplifies the process of offshore waste storage and waste disposal.
The Mil-tek 205-O is powered exclusively by compressed air, meaning that it is free of both electrical and hydraulic components. In addition, the 205-O contains no directly interacting metal parts that could cause a spark or risk fire. This effectively eliminates any risk of fire.
TT-Line Company is a company operating ferries from Tasmania to mainland Australia. The Spirit of Tasmania uses a 205-O to minimize their cardboard waste on board.
Mitre 10 are a hardware supplies chain in New Zealand. They found that as their business grew, as did the problem of waste. Mil-tek machinery allows them compact large volumes into small balers.
Puratos supply ingredients for the catering industry. They use a Mil-tek 205 allowing them to hygienically compact paper bags in the working area as they are used, saving them time and money and improving efficiency.
A Mil-tek technician will guide you through installation, which is done by simply connecting your 205-O Baler to a compressed air supply. For uneven surfaces, the machine can also be safely secured at the base or to an adjoining wall.
Fill the chamber with cardboard or plastic and close the door. Once the handle is pressed down, the machine is activated and the minimizing has begun. Repeat until the baler is full.
The 205-O is made in line with specifications unique to the offshore industry. Specific components have been removed to minimize corrosion and the unit itself is available in both zinc-coated and stainless steel finishes.
The unit can also be easily bolted to floors or walls, ensuring that it can safely operate on uneven surfaces.
The 205-O covers approximately 52cm2 on the ground, and is 2.4m tall. It can be installed indoors in compact locations where space is premium.
Either or; the machine is durable and can withstand the toughest conditions. In order to maximise the lifespan of your machine, it is recommended that it be installed in a covered location.
The 205-O is suitable for compacting a wide range of material. Typically, it is used to bale plastic and cardboard, but it can also compact hard plastic, foam, rubber, polystyrene amongst other materials. If in doubt, speak to one of our consultants.
To maximise the commodity value of baled material, t is not recommended that you mix materials.
Offshore platforms and rigs operate in tough environments where space is limited and waste disposal is covered by strict legislation.
A model 205-O compacts all cardboard and plastic on board making offshore waste disposal and waste storage a much simpler, stress free concern. Constant pressure applied to the compressed material via patented ECO-Drive technology results in heavily compressed bales.
For commercial ships, space and waste are crucial parameters. Typically operating with small crews and constantly moving surfaces, keeping the working conditions clean and waste free is of critical importance.
A strategically placed 205-O will become an integral part of the offshore waste management by allowing crew to easily and tidily dispose of waste plastic and cardboard.
Carrying sometimes thousands of passengers and hundreds of crew, the sheer volume of waste creation onboard large cruiseships is staggering. All of this waste must be retained onboard until the ship reaches port, meaning waste minimization is vital.
With a tiny footprint of just 52cm2, the 205-O is an ideal solution to the problem of offshore waste management on cruise ships.
